ELIMINATION ROUND: Task Five- Haunt me Beautiful

Hello Ladies,

This past week has been quite hectic for me and my fellow judge so this task was judged by me and Mirdith. AND WILL BE JUDGED FAIRLY HARSHLY. This competition is getting serious and we need to know our competitors are up to the task!  This weeks task was all about the transformation in the makeup, to show that you have a variety of makeup skills at your disposal.

For judges this task was to see your... ability to give us two VERY different looks. One doll should be dark, and the other should be light. 

OVERALL JUDGING CRITICISM:

We failed to see more of a disposition between the innocent and the horror looks, plus most of you did not give out the horror vibe, I felt like most of you confused horror/monster for goth/emo.

BeatsInAllegro

Circee.: I liked the innocent look, I feel like you really grasped the idea of lighter colors, but the brow could have been lighter. ^-^ But, the scary look isn't doing it for me. It isn't scary, and if you are going for a pale look, GO ALL WHITE, and then give her black eyes, not makeup, but eyes. Iris, and all. But the look isn't scary, It is goth, NOT MONSTER.

Mirdith: The innocent look is not bad, but it could have been better. I think you used too much shiner on the lips, and in the eyes I would have used some natural shadow. The blush is great. And the green line too. But… If you like to put blonde hair, I think you should have put her some lighter eyebrows. The scary one is definitely scary. I love that effect of eyes made of glass, and the eyelashes you used. The black hair is good too and the pale skin. You could have applied the eyeshadow better though. And, I don’t see the evolution between one and another, I don’t see the before and after part, they are very different.

Circee.: The innocent look is definitely innocent, the light colors are wonderful, good job with that. BUT, on the horror look I believe that you went WAY OVER BOARD. The eyes are more on the scary side but the rest of it is just a mess, the colors don't match I feel like it doesn't mix too well. The blood is a good touch though, but this is not your strongest task.

Mirdith: Looks great both of them, but on the scary look, that red lines you made with the red face pen look a little random. I love the effect on the mouth, and the red eyes. Good job!

LondonToParis

Circee.: I can't help but feel totally disappointed, the innocent look is still too dark. The dark hair and coral lips do not represent innocent, It is all about LIGHT COLORS. And the horror look does not scare me, it doesn't represent monster, to me I just see a sad goth girl, or emo girl. The look does not give me any visual of monster.

Mirdith: The innocent look is OK. And I love how you have made the scary look without any accessories! That shadow under the eye.. perfect! And the black eyeliner and lipstick, the greasy ¡, very long, dark hair… great! Though, the cat eye contacts look a little out of place for me. Other than that, great!

Circee.: WOW JUST WOW. The horror monster look is amazing. It reminds me of the step mother from coraline, but it's terrifying! One of the best looks of the night. And the innocent look is DEFINITELY innocent! Very good, you definitely stepped up this task.

Mirdith: The natural look is good. Looks very innocent, and kind. And the scary is terrifying! Love the makeup and that big dark eyes you made. Also that scar and the blood on the mouth… very good! Great job!

Circee.: Your innocent doll was rather good, I liked how you used natural lighter colors, BUT, I must say the sparkle makes it look unnatural. The scary look is a complete disappointment. You used darker colors, but I don't see scary, there are so many WAYS TO REPRESENT SCARY, and I feel like you didn't even try to explore new ways to overcome any lack of makeup or items you may have had.

Mirdith: The innocent look could have been more natural. I don’t think you should have used black eyeliner, as it made her not look so innocent and natural. Also, she has brown eyebrows and blonde hair, platinium blonde hair. That also makes her look that innocent. The scary doll… Well, it’s not scary. You have only used red, and *** * bow in her eye, that looks a little random. I think that if you have made her look more dolly but with dark accessories would have been better, cause it would look more like a doll, but with terror things.

Circee.: Your face is PERFECT for the innocent look but the eye makeup is too harsh to be innocent, it is too dark of a color to be sweet. And when scrolling down to see your monster makeup from the top half I was thinking "OH WOW ITS AMAZING" then looking at the bottom half I was unsure how to feel about the look as a whole. I get the experiment aspect, but I still want it to look scary, I feel like the wide range of colors in the eyes and cheeks make it look like a rainbow monster. How many scary movies have you seen when the chaotic experiment gone wrong has had rainbow eyes and purple cheeks?

Mirdith: The innocent look is good. Looks natural and pretty. The history is good too. But the execution of the scary look I think that it could have been better. I love the eye contact thing. It truly looks like if she’s some kind of machine. The hair is well chosen too as if she has been cut for the experimentation, but that blonde extension… I think it would have looked scarier without it. I do love the blush you used and the lipstick and mout expression. But… the eyeshadow… well, is good, but I think that it doesn’t combine with the rest of the theme. And those scars… I think that you could have made them shorter and then they would look more like real scars (I know it’s like they have put together the face, I don’t know how to say it in English). The blood on the hair is OK. Good job. Looks like you have thought about it, and you did it good.

Circee.: This is by far your best task yet. I LOVE EVERY THING ABOUT IT. The mary jane inspired look is spot on ;) and the monster/horror makeup is SCARY, yet I can still sense the original dolls presense which I like. Very good. SO PROUD.

Mirdith: Both looks are what you were asked for. The natural looks very innocent, and the scarey is certainly scary! I like that you used the black & white camera to make it look darker. I love how you did the eyes, and that thing made with hair in the mouth is so good! You have done a great job!

Second best makeup was scenable, CLOSE SECOND, very very good task, keep up the good work.

pArAdIsE_134, BeatsInAllegro, and LondonToParis.


You are all such strong contestants...But this week you failed to impress us.

Lets start with LondonToParis.

You could have done SOOOOO MUCH BETTER, one of the other judges liked your makeup up, but I felt like you weren't trying to your full potential to complete the scary look.

Your innocent look was amazing, but you failed to haunt us judges with a scary look, you can't give us a great innocent look and then give up on the second half of the challenge.

and finally pArAdIsE_134...

Your horror look disappointed us all. You can do so much better then that. Both judges agreed that the horror look was a mess, although the innocent look was very light.

We understood the look you were going for but we feel like you could have gone A LOT scarier.


That leaves us with pArAdIsE_134 and BeatsInAllegro.

Both you girls have so much to give in this competition but only one of you can stay.

Your task scored higher overall then pArAdIsE_134, but it was close, we know you can do so much better! 

pArAdIsE_134.... I'm so sorry, but your task scored the lowest. You were such a strong competitor in this competition! Try again next time, I know you will do so much better!
